Be thankful this year for fascinating and thought-provoking theater. WCLOC is proud to present its production of Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman’s powerful Assassins. This most American and controversial of musicals lays bare the lives of nine individuals who assassinated or tried to assassinate the President of the United States, in an historical “revusical” that explores the dark side of the American experience. From John Wilkes Booth to Lee Harvey Oswald, Sondheim and Weidman bend the rules of time and space, taking you on a nightmarish rollercoaster ride in which assassins and would-be assassins from different historical periods meet, interact and in an intense final scene inspire each other to harrowing acts in the name of the American Dream.

    Show Synopsis

“The Innocents” is a ghost story set in old country house in the late 19th century in England. The story tells of an impressionable and unworldly young lady, Miss Giddens, who accepts a position as governess to a pair of young orphan children, Flora and Miles, whose closest relative, an uncle, cannot be bothered with them. Miss Giddens becomes convinced that the children are possessed by the perverse spirits of former governess Miss Jessel and her Heathcliff like lover Quint, and realizes that she must fight to save “The Innocents” from the evil within. The play is clever and the ending ambiguous, leaving the audience to contemplate whether the house is really haunted or whether they are only the hallucinations of the tormented mind of the sheltered and sexually repressed Miss Giddens.

    Production Dates & Times

    Saturday nights – October 15th, 22nd and 29th  - 8:00 pm

    Show Synopsis

In an effort to protect himself after being thrown into prison during the Spanish Inquisition, Miguel de Cervantes tells his fellow prisoners a story he imagines in another world — the story of Don Quixote of La Mancha and his loyal servant, Sancho Panza. The duo set out to rid the world of evil, battling windmills and honoring the serving wench Aldonza as a lady. Honor, romance, nobility, and chivalry reign in this classic musical featuring one of the most inspirational musical theatre songs of all time, “The Impossible Dream.”
